Most of the time we are privileged to share with you the journey of animals who have been abandoned and how they finally find somewhere to call home again. Documenting their hardship and the heartwarming relationships they form with the hoomans who save them. But today we tell a slightly different kind of tale. About an ex-working dog who was discarded and ended up at the shelter with a 24 hr time limit upon her head. She was not aggressive, she was not loud, she was just scared.

German Shepherds are known for their incredible work ethic and also their slightly fearsome nature. But in truth they can be some of the sweetest softies on the planet. All they need, like any doggo, is some tender love and care and before you know it they are melting in your hands. A fact that this family most certainly were aware of and one that drove them to take a chance on the canine who would not let anyone near her. Her behavior showed that close contact with hoomans has a negative connotation for the poor pup, meaning those were usually confrontations of the physical kind.

Now, this pup's adoptive family knew all this before bringing their girl home, what they didn't know is that their plan to shower her with love and affection would not work. It would only cause frustration as she did everything she could to escape the family's advances. That is until one day when they realized they needed a drastic change of approach and they turned to someone quite unexpected for support.

Holy moly what a state for such a young pupper to be in. We often consider the physical ailments of a dumped doggo, but the emotional scars are just as important to consider. To think that things had been done to this dog in its very short time on this earth that have made it be totally terrified of hoomans. To see us as some sort of scary overlord whom they must obey and fear deeply. Thank goodness this family was ready to take on the challenge of healing her. Otherwise it sounds like this sweet soul would not have made it.

Now that is one heck of a transformation right there. Who would have thought in their wildest dreams that less would be more in this kind of a situation. But it seems that the AI was astutely correct in this case and we have to thank it for its surprisingly accurate advice. Sometimes we forget that some doggos are more doggo than hooman, and in those cases we need to employ doggo behavioral techniques to help them come out of their shells, join our pack and become quasi people. And it sounds like this pup is well on her way to become a fluffy pile of cuddles in the near future.
